Vase drive for Random Acts of Flowers

How often have we heard the phrase “Stop to smell the roses”? Perhaps it is a phrase we should pay more attention to. With the beginning of the holiday season, we, at Michael Buss Architects, were thinking of our annual Christmas Party. While we have done some really fun outings in the past, we shifted our thoughts to thinking about what we could do for the community. And we are inviting you to help us with our day of giving back!

A while back I discovered first-hand the comfort and healing of fresh flowers that were delivered daily to my father’s room while a hospice patient in Sarasota, Florida. The beauty of fresh flowers brought in by volunteers to every guest’s room helped tremendously during a very difficult time. So impressed by the compassion and generosity of the volunteers, I was thrilled to find a similar organization located right here in Chicago!

The team at Michael Buss Architects will create flower arrangements for Random Acts of Flowers (RAF), a nonprofit organization serving Chicagoland that delivers hope and encouragement through flowers to over 2,500 hospital patients and nursing home residents each month.

We need your help collecting Vases!

Will you donate any vases you have laying around that you no longer need or use? These vases will be used by our team to create floral arrangements that will brighten someone’s day. We’re collecting any glass or plastic container that holds water, ideal vase sizes are between 4”-10”.

Bring your vases to:

Michael Buss Architects – 9324 S Roberts Rd, Hickory Hills on Friday, November 15th between 9 – 6pm
